I felt like drawing this next! New daddy Ike! Father's Day is around the corner as well. 
Ike may not have any canon kids, but I headcanon that he does, and here he is holding his first. :3
For my stories, it's baby Kael (who actually ends up being born in a wagon, which is why he has a hooded blanket up there. It was likely a bit chilly on the way to the infirmary) and the mother is Elincia, but this pic is really ambiguous, so you can imagine the mother as pretty much whoever! I just reaaally think Ike would make an excellent dad and that it stinks that he's been left out of all the FE lord family-ness. Not to mention ironic because Ike emphasizes a value of family. He really cares for his family, he treats the mercenaries like a family, and he even treats his ARMY like a family! I think he'd really love to have his own someday, he just doesn't show it a lot and he has a bunch of other priorities throughout his games. But just about every other lord gets married and has kids. Priam does exist and he's Ike's descendant, but that's the closest we've ever gotten for Ike. Still, it leaves a pretty good chance that Ike did in fact father at least one child, so there's hope for him! ^^
The title reflects Ike's relationship with his own father. Greil was distant from him and kept a lot of secrets. Ike was constantly trying to learn more and not knowing his parents too well ended up being hard on both him and Mist. Because of this, I imagine Ike to not want his children to live the same way. He would be closer to them. Besides this, I still also imagine that he'd raise them as Greil did him and Mist.
The background is sunshiny because I also headcanon that Ike tells his children that they brought the brightest ray of sunshine to his life. Hey, the poor guy witnessed both his parents die (though he may never remember one of these instances), he had leadership suddenly thrust onto his shoulders and he was tasked with saving his homeland twice. He's been through a lot of tough times.

f!Morgan had a line in a Robicina fic which springs to mind. It was "practically weaponized cute", and it fits this scene rather nicely. As always, I love the way you drew Ike. You did great with his clothes, hair, and skin and muscle tone. And, given Ike's principal role as a bipedal tank, it makes a refreshing contrast to see how gently he's holding little Kael. And, little Kael is just adorable! The way he's all bundled up, how tiny he is, and that little blue mop he'd sporting just make me want to reach in there and do some energetic cheek pinching. I wonder if it would've been cuter, however, to have Kael awake and taking swipes at Ike's nose. Well, just idle curiosity. The allusion to Ike's relationship with Greil is also an interesting touch, though I am curious about your prediction regarding how Ike would raise Kael and Lalita, in some ways, as Greil raised Ike and Mist. Between what I know about Ike, post-DoD, and the reason for your choice of background, I am wondering if Ike's use of fathering techniques might be more selective. Greil did not, for instance, strike me as the sort to tuck the kids into bed for a story after all there'd been enough trading bruises on the practice yard. Raising the kids to be rough and tough and righteous and good looking? That, I can picture Ike taking out of Greil's playbook, though. Anyhow, thanks for telling me about this pic and catch you later.
