I never uploaded this until now? That's odd, I could've sworn I had. But this is the fan Pokemon region I mapped out like maybe a year ago or so. It's based off of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in the US, the city I'm from. I figured it'd make an interesting setting for a region because of the three rivers and such. It's styled like the Pokemon Black/White and Black 2/White 2 maps since those were the newest games at the time.
The city and town names are based off of metals due to Pittsburgh's history as the nation's biggest steel producer. Try guessing which ones each name comes from. ^^ There's also another origin for Chromine Town, which people that know me well can probably figure out. lol
Several locations here have real-world equivalents in Pittsburgh too. Here they are:
Main Story Locations:
Chromine Town ~ Lincoln Place (where my family lived!)
Nickallo City ~ Sandcastle Waterpark/Waterfront (you find a Water type gym leader here whose gym is also an indoor waterpark!)
Abandoned Mill ~ Old steel mill remains (there are tall pipes on the Waterfront that remain there as historic landmarks. They really are what's left of Pittsburgh's old steel mills)
Geological Dig Site ~ Carnegie Melon Museum of Natural History
Copine Square ~ South Park
Mangalo City/Safari Zone ~ Pittsburgh Zoo and PPG Aquarium
Copperton City ~ Downtown Pittsburgh (the biggest city in the region!)
Entralink ~ Point State Park
Post-Game Locations:
Pokewood Park ~ Kennywood Park (amusement parks ftw!)
Spooky House ~ Not an actual real world equivalent, but the idea DID come from this old spooky-looking house that I saw in Lincoln place once.
Silver City ~ Pittsburgh International Airport (Silver City has an airport of its own! The player would be able to use it to go to Unova. I'd pick Sinnoh instead, but Unova actually has an airport as well, whereas Sinnoh does not have one at this time)
Steel Tunnel ~ Fort Pitt Tunnel (you actually can visit this place in the main story, but it doesn't become the most useful until the post-game when you can visit Eon Mountain)
That's all I can remember right now, I might have forgotten some. lol You can also bet that there's a football stadium near Copperton City because of Pittsburgh's own Heinz Field!
The name Yinze comes from the term "yinz" which Pittsburghers often use in place of "you all" or "y'all" when talking. Citizens of this region will use it the same way too!

Some info on the original locations: the Arctic and Tropic Hideouts are where the region's two teams, Team Arctic and Team Tropic, dwell. Their goals are to change the climate to suit the needs of people and Pokemon. The Molten Cavern, Earthen Grove, and Coral Lake are version exclusive locations that contain members of a legendary quartet of Pokemon. The fourth Pokemon would be found a different way since it more or less lives in the sky. The games this region would be in are a set of three that would all be released at the same time. The Shining Tower is where the player would meet the master of this quartet, the legendary Pokemon Regasus. The Dragon Forest and Dragon Clearing are where you would meet an event-only Dragon type legendary. Similarly, the Floral Shrine is a location where you would meet an event-only Fairy type legendary. The Golden Cavern is just a deeper part of Victory Road that would only be accessible during the post-game, and would lead you to Route 122, Silver City, and onward.
EDIT: This region's name is now something a bit more fitting and clever! I think this is better.

I also happen to be a Pittsburgher, and I know that our city is one of the biggest producers of steel in the whole country, so it’s obvious there should be a town with a steel-type gym leader for that fact alone. And just like all the other games that featured casinos, there should be one based off of Three Rivers Casino.
