DoD Comic 37: Antsy Marc by Great-Aether DoD Comic 37: Antsy Marc by Great-Aether
Haha, some more Marc and Leona back-and-forthing.  These two really care about each other. lol

But yeah, Marc's kinda shy and nervous around old folks.  I never actually explained why in the story, but I think we can assume that Bronwyn has something to do with it, that sassy old lady who debuts in chapter...22 I think. =P

Azura's mother will debut in the next comic!

These two are always good for a laugh. Makes you wonder, however, how many people who have read this comic - but haven't gotten to the story yet - will deduce your plan for the pair. And, for that matter, whether Leona will hold Marc's words against him when, well, there's spoilers there. But, I think you can deduce what I was going to ask. In any case, I love the pow-wow you have going between Marc and Leona. The way Leona's expression shifts is also a nice touch. That last frame is definitely a moment where you find yourself wishing that anime sweatdrops didn't come off as immature. Or that the GBA had facepalm sprites. depending. Getting back on topic, you've also got an interesting double-play going here. You're continuing to draw out the suspense, but then you shift gears and give the viewer some comic relief. The sprites and background look great, as always, and it's good to see you've still got the she's-nervous-he's-suspicious thing going with Azura and Ike at the beginning. Interesting that there is no solid - or, at least, pre-planned - reason for Marc's anxiety towards elderly people. Some fun possibilities, several of which involve dentures, spring to mind. But, I'll let you decide whether Marc has a more concrete reason for his fears. In any case, thanks for letting me know about this, an good job. Catch you later.

Oh, they so are. XD

And ditto on that last frame.

Glad you like it so much, Falchion! Thanks a bunch. ^^

Glad to be of service. You didn't answer my question, though. Are you planning for Leona to hold Marc's words against him - or, at least, make it look like she is - further down the line? As in, WAY further?

Maybe, I'm not sure yet.

Well, keep it in mind. Since they're, well, you know? Maybe Leona teases him about it whenever they talk about the future?

LOL. Old people are...interesting to say the least...I'm reminded of when I was like 2 or 3, my parents took me to a great aunt's house on Halloween...I didn't know her well enough yet, and she was wearing a witch costume, and she's always so loud and boisterous. I was terrified. I thought they'd taken me to a real witch's house! My great uncle had no arms because he got them cut off in some farm machinery, it's a good thing I knew the truth before I saw him, or else I wouldve thought "That witch cut that poor man's arms off!" :lmao:

Hate to bug you about it again, but that chapter is still there. And...once I play Awakening, I'll have to return the favor and read yours. Looks like mostly a romance thing, right?

Ugh, damn it.  Why don't my replies to comments on DA go through in my phone?  I was on a little road trip earlier.  But anyway, that's just creepy. xP

And thanks for reminding me, I read your chapter in the car and I must say, I really liked this one!  Good work. :D  And yeah, Happy Together is a romance.  I just hope you don't end up hating Frederick x Female Avatar. =P You know, you can always read FE: Dawn of Darkness if you don't want to wait for Awakening.  Its chapters start getting pretty lengthy after awhile though.

I'm more into the action/adventure things. Romance is okay, don't get me wrong...but I prefer it as not the main point of the story. I think I'll be fine with that pairing, I know you're not the kind who just writes to live out a fantasy with a favorite character. Since the avatar pretty much is an OC...

Thanks! Groose finally made a move lol, in typical Groose fashion. Next chapter you get to meet the rest of the kids. I've got something interesting planned for Cawlin and Peatrice's.

Oh, well, there will be some action in part 4! Frederick has to fight this evil sorcerer to save Kelli (his wife and my Awakening Avatar if you haven't already noticed =P) because the sorcerer is after her and has put a tracking spell on her.  He wouldn't remove it unless Frederick challenged him and won, so yeah.

Though, truth be told, Kelli IS partially a self-insert.  Like me, she's defensive about what she loves and kind of over-affectionate. lol  And she looks a little young for her age (for me, she's 22, 24 after the two-year time skip, but she has the first female build, which looks more like 18-20).  But unlike me, she's much more willing to have sex, have children, raise a family, etc.  She's much more outgoing too and totally loves tactics (not really an area of interest for me lol).  She doesn't have artistic talent either.  She's a little clumsy in that area.  Though she can cook just fine.  She prefers hobbies where she'd use her mind or her body more, though.  As a tactician, she uses her mind to form strategies, and her body to fight.  She'd be totally into sports too.  And pretty good at them.  Oh, yeah, she's a little impulsive too, which I'm not. =P

Yeah, typical Groose lol.  Cawlin and Peatrice still look odd together in my head, but that's just because I'm not into pairing a taller girl with a shorter guy, so pay me no mind. lol

Wow, you've really characterized the avatar. Cool...and that evil sorcerer thing sounds intriguing, if a bit damsel in distress cliche-y.

It works. I think her dad would be more likely to accept her being involved with someone who's less...idk, but he would probably go after Groose with whatever weapon's laying around. Cawlin doesn't look as threatening I guess. The height difference? Well if a lab can have puppies with a poodle, resulting in labradoodles *shot* Yeah. Same concept lol. Cerai's a bit smaller than Groose too, but you know how that works out.

Well, the sorcerer doesn't actually literally capture Kelli.  He just keeps her within his sights and battles Frederick to get to her.  This guy uses some crazy strong dark magic though, so Frederick doesn't find this challenge even the least bit easy.

But in Groose and Cerai's case, the girl is the shorter one.  It's the opposite with Cawlin and Peatrice, is what I mean.  If the lab is male and the poodle is female, that's different.

I see your point. But, what works works. It's not a pairing I rally behind as much as the Zelink in SS. Have seen it done before though, for the same reason I'm using, broken hearts attracted to each other because they have that in common.

That sorcerer sounds like a psychopath xD I'll have to read to find out his exact motive.

Yeah, true that.  I'm a big Link x Zelda fan myself, for every game except TP (I go with Link x Ashei there). ^^

Yeah, he's pretty psychotic.  He reveals a little bit about his motives, but not everything.  That comes up in the next story I have in mind.  Where he comes BACK.  Bwahaha.
